More than 40 Year 11 pupils from Ripley St Thomas CE Academy were presented with silver medals as part of the Ripley + award for Leadership and Service.
Mrs Garnett, one of the governors and previous Head of Sixth Form, visited school present the awards.
She said: “We are proud to continue our academy’s early trustees’ tradition of awarding medals to the boys and girls who showed the qualities ‘which made the finest man’ (and woman!).
“Throughout Key Stage 4, our pupils recorded the different challenges and activities they had undertaken which demonstrated their service to school and their leadership skills.
“We were very impressed with the wide range of activities pupils were involved in and the skills they say they developed as a result.
“They are a credit to themselves and to the academy and we are sure that working towards this award will benefit them in their future.”
Congratulations to all the award winners and especially to Caitlin Johnstone, William Ritchie and Adam Robinson who were awarded the prestigious Principal’s gold medal for outstanding service to the academy.
