Driver sought after boy, 16, is hit by car

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was hit by a car in Scorton.

The 16-year-old was walking home along Gubberford Lane when he was struck by a passing vehicle at about 4.50pm on Wednesday January 4.

The driver of the silver/blue 4x4 – a woman aged about 50 – stopped at the scene for a few moments before asking a passer-by to take the boy home and then drove off without leaving any details.

The teenager suffered only minor bruising as well as losing a tooth.

PC Jason Colclough said: “Although the driver did stop at the scene, she didn’t leave her details and we would like to speak with her as we look to establish the circumstances surrounding this collision.

“If you were driving the car, or know who was, then please contact police. I would also like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision.”
