Dog stuck on river bank

A dog became trapped on the river bank at St George’s Quay.

Firefighters went to the scene near Greyhound Bridge Road in Lancaster to try and reach the dog which was stranded on a silt mud ledge opposite the Maritime Museum.

They were first called out at 9.22 on November 27.

Lancaster City Council dog warden service was called out but were not needed as the dog’s owner was at the scene.

The dog was safely rescued.
