Dark Skies event in Forest of Bowland

The UK’s Areas of Oustanding Natural Beauty have come together to organise a 10 day programme of events to help people enjoy and be inspired by the nation’s AONBs.

The Forest of Bowland will be hosting a Dark Skies Discovery event on September 21 as part of the celebrations.

The National Association of AONB’s Jill Smith, said: “Outstanding Week is an opportunity for you to get involved and get out into our AONBs’ outstanding landscapes to enjoy country shows, dark sky discovery nights, walking festivals, archaeology walks, wood fairs, foraging and local food festivals, wildlife walks, coastal and marine days, thatching courses, drystone walling competitions, charcoal making, bioblitz, inspiration through art and music and much more throughout the country. “
