Dancers enjoy success in regional competition

Abi Buczynski, 12, Lucy Bunce, 11, Martha Chaisty 10, Lucy Hood, 10 and Olivia Webb 11, all represented Lakeland & Morecambe Academy of Theatre Arts (LAMATA) at the competition.

The girls competed in three genres – tap, modern and ballet.Abi Buczynski reached the semi-final in ballet (12-13 age category).

Martha Chaisty reached the semi-final in tap and ballet (10-11 age category).

Lucy Hood reached the semi-final (10-11 category) in tap and modern and 
reached the final in ballet placing five.

Lucy Bunce reached the semi-final (10-11 category) in modern and reached the final in ballet and achieved first place out of a total of 55 competotors.

A spokesman for LAMATA said: “It was a fantastic achievement for LAMATA dancing school.”

LAMATA is based on Marine Road East, Morecambe.
