Cyclist who died in Bolton-le-Sands crash named

Alexander William Clark died following the incident on the A6 at Bolton-le-Sands.

The 87-year-old was cycling on the pavement towards the direction of Carnforth at around 4.30pm on Friday when he fell into the oncoming path of a blue Volvo XC70.

Mr Clark sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he died.

A post mortem is due to take place and the investigation is still on-going to determine how the incident happened.

This is not the first time a serious accident has occurred at the A6 junction in Bolton-le-Sands.
