‘Very drunk’ man, 20, jumps onto railway line at Carnforth to chase train

A 20-year-old man jumped onto the railway line at Carnforth after being refused train travel due to being drunk.

British Transport Police were called after the man tried to chase the train as it left Carnforth Station on Wednesday.

He had been told he was not allowed to travel due to being ‘very drunk’.

The man had to be collected by his parents after being removed from the tracks by station staff.

The incident happened at Carnforth Station.

@BTPLancashire posted on Twitter that the man will be interviewed about trespassing at a later date.

They said: “A 20-year-old man was refused travel at #Carnforth yesterday due to being very drunk. As the train left he jumped on the track to chase it. Railstaff removed him from the line as we attended. The man was collected by his parents. He will be interviewed about the trespass later.”
