A SHOW dog stolen during a burglary has been reunited with her owner after being found wandering along a street more than 50 miles away.
Honey, a four-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, was found in Bolton, Greater Manchester, after being taken by thieves who burgled 80-year-old Barbara Witham’s home between 10.30am and 1.15pm last Friday.
Fortunately, Honey was micro-chipped and Mrs Witham, of Main Street, Whittington, was contacted by police the following day to say she had been found by a dog warden in Hobart Street, Bolton.
Items of expensive jewellery were also stolen from the property, including a gold watch, two gold chains and a diamond and sapphire Swarovski broach.
Mrs Whitham, who breeds Yorkshire Terriers, said she had been out getting her hair done in the village but returned home to find a broken window and her house in disarray.
“Honey usually comes to the back door and kisses me but nobody came,” she said.
