Police tackle large groups of youths taking drugs and drinking in Scorton

Police have increased their presence in Scorton after reports of large gatherings of youths taking drugs and drinking alcohol.

On their Facebook page, Garstang and Over Wyre Police said: "We are aware of increased community concern about anti-social behaviour in Scorton, particularly at the football/play area close to Springfield Gardens and Gubberford Lane.

"We have received reports that there have been large gatherings of young people, drug taking and alcohol misuse.

"Significant littering has also been reported, causing villagers to have to clean it up themselves.

"We take these reports seriously, so we have increased the police presence in the village. Don’t be concerned if you see officers patrolling – we’re out to keep you safe.

"Parents, please take responsibility for understanding where your younger family members are, remind them to act responsibly and follow the revised Govt Covid19 rules."
