Police issue warning after spate of shed and garage break-ins in Lancaster

Police have issued a warning after a spate of shed and garage break-ins in south Lancaster.

Lancaster Area Police say there has been a rise in incidents, particularly in the Marsh, Bulk and Bowerham areas.

The offenders have been targeting these areas during the hours of darkness, stealing pedal cycles and tools.

There will be extra patrols in these areas conducted by both plain clothed and regular police officers.

A police spokesman said: “Please could residents remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity through the 101 service or 999 if you believe a crime is in progress.

“We will be offering free bike coding early in the new year with when and where to follow.”
