Police forces from six counties including Lancashire took part in a rural crime operation.

The Farm Watch operation spanned across a total of 4,000 square miles.

More than 100 police officers and PCSOs supported nearly 200 volunteers across the six force areas.

During the operation more than 100 vehicles were stopped and searched.

Lancashire, Cumbria and Durham had fairly quiet nights.

In most areas there was very little crime reported.

Inspector David Willetts, from Cumbria Constabulary, said: “We would like to thank those who volunteered for the operation.”
