A POST office boss has relived the moment two hooded robbers, one wielding a hammer, “bolted over the counter” and shoved him to the ground.
The pair, Eoghan McMullen, 30, and Michael Carroll, 38, were last week jailed at Preston Crown Court after admitting the robbery at Scale Hall Post Office in Cleveleys Avenue, Lancaster, during which they stole £21,500 on October 1 last year.
Carroll, of Wenlock Road, Liverpool, who had previous convictions for 40 offences, received an indeterminate sentence for public protection, with a minimum term of 31 months. Only then can the Parole Board consider his case and he will be on licence for the rest of his life.
McMullen, of Pinehurst Avenue, Anfield, Liverpool, who had previous convictions for 72 offences, mainly for dishonesty and drugs, was jailed for four years and eight months.
