A persistent thief caught shoplifting five days after she was handed a suspended prison sentence for theft has been jailed for 26 weeks.
Tracey Jamieson, 34, of St Philip’s Road, Preston, admitted taking 11 cans of Lynx deodorant and one sleeve of Savlon gel, worth £38, from a Wilkinson store on June 8.
She was given a 22-week suspended sentence on June 3 after stealing credit, debit and store cards and a Samsung mobile phone on June 2.
Preston Magistrates’ Court activated the suspended sentence and handed Jamieson a consecutive four-week sentence for the latest offence.
Magistrates said the crime was “so serious” because it was committed on bail, one week after the last sentence and due to Jamieson’s “numerous previous convictions” for like offences.
