A man was attacked seconds after being ejected from a bar in Lancaster.

The 26-year-old, on a night out with friends, was involved in an altercation with another group in Revolution.

After he was escorted out of the Penny Street venue, he became cut off from his friends and was then assaulted by up to three people from the other group and knocked to the ground outside KFC.

The victim was helped by a nearby doorman but the offenders made off after the attack, which happened between 12.30am and 2.30am on Sunday, October 28.

A taxi driver also tried to stop the attackers.

PC Ben Hanley said: “The victim sustained bruising to his head and face and I would appeal to anybody that thinks they may have witnessed this assault to contact police.

“I would also appeal to a taxi driver and a local member of door staff who attempted to intervene in the incident.”
