Man arrested after telling member of staff at Lancaster train station 'I hope you have cancer and die'

A man who missed a train at Lancaster told a member of staff who had dispatched it 'I hope you have cancer and die.'

The man arrived for his train at Lancaster just as it was leaving and hurled the insult at the member of staff.

As British Transport Police officers arrived, the man scaled an 8 foot high fence and ran off.

British Transport Police Lancaster said on their Twitter feed: "Less than 24 hours later on Wednesday, September 23, officers spotted the suspect when he returned to Lancaster station and he was arrested without incident.

"The man has been charged with a public order offence and bailed to appear at court in November."
