FIVE people have been arrested after the Queen Victoria statue in Lancaster was vandalised.
Damage was also done to the flagstones in the memorial gardens opposite Lancaster Town Hall, after a group of people are believed to have gone on a spray-painting spree.
The incident occured on the evening of Sunday July 29, and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Three parked cars were also vandalised in Dalton Square and the words “where was my grandad” were daubed across the base of the Queen Victoria statue.
The five men arrested were all from Lancaster and aged in their twenties and thirties.
