A Lancashire Police officer has been charged with misconduct in public office over alleged relationships he had with vulnerable women.

Detective Constable Jatinder Bunger, aged 38, has been charged with three counts of misconduct in public office following an Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) investigation.

The charges against DC Bunger are in connection with allegations he sought relationships with two vulnerable women he met during the course of his duties and took or otherwise obtained photographs of four other women without their permission.

A spokesman for the IOPC said: "Our investigation began in March 2018 and at the conclusion of our enquiries in September 2019 we submitted a file of evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service which made the decision to charge DC Bunger."

The officer is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (20 October).
