A man from Lancaster has been arrested in connection with a burglary during which over £5,000 worth of belongings were stolen.

The 48-year-old was arrested following the burglary in Ackenthwaite, Milnthorpe, between 9am and 1pm on Tuesday, December 17.

A property in the area was broken into, with various items being stolen, totalling over £5,000 worth of belongings. Witnesses are being sought who saw a van that was in the area at or around the time of the burglary.

A white transit van, with red relating to pest control was seen in the area and police are appealing for anyone who has seen the van to come forward.

Detective Inspector Amanda Sadler said: “We appeal for anyone who has seen this van in Ackenthwaite to come forward, not just those who may have seen it on the morning, but potentially over the previous days.

“The van is described as a white transit style, with red writing that advertised pest control.” Anyone who saw the van or has information relating to the incident, can contact Cumbria Police on 101.
