Garstang hit-and-run: Elderly pedestrian left with broken arm and leg after being struck by car

A woman in her 60s was hospitalised with "serious injuries" following a hit-and-run collision in Garstang, police said.

A pedestrian was struck by a car in Croston Road, close to the junction with Hawthorne Avenue, at around 4.40pm on Thursday, January 6.

The motorist fled the scene, leaving the pedestrian - a woman in her 60s - with a broken arm and leg as well as other "serious injuries".

She was taken to hospital for treatment.

Detectives said the vehicle was travelling towards the A6 before the collision, but they were "unable to provide any details of the vehicle".

PC Gary Holliday, of Lancashire Police, said: “An elderly woman has been left with serious injuries and we want to find the driver of the vehicle involved.

"Did you see what happened, or see a car in the area driving erratically around the time of the collision?
