Strawberry Fields Training FT is a Lancaster based organisation which uses community based assets and volunteers to provide local solutions for local problems.

Following on from their recent national recognition in London of “Best Start-Up Social Enterprise”, and more recently the shortlisting in the regional finals, Strawberry Fields Training has received funding to further develop the Rewind Project. The Rewind project delivers an innovative approach to highlighting the dangers of substance and alcohol misuse, the consequences of risk taking behaviours and the impact it can have on young lives and futures. It offers a powerful insight into risk taking lifestyles; using peer mentors with real-life experiences as workshop facilitators. It delivers an energetic, informative and effective programme that has an impact on all audiences. Headteacher Steve Wetherill comments “The workshop gave an honest account of the real life effects of offending behaviour and the consequences it may lead to. We are hopeful that the knock on effect will be for them to make different/positive choices in the future”.

Director of SFT Paul Ireland said: “This is excellent news. The programme has been well received by schools and youth groups gaining excellent feedback from teachers, pupils, and the police. We have received funding for the project from the Big Lottery; enabling us to develop the programme further, which is great news for the Lancaster district”.
