Police are hunting a vandal who slashed two fur coats worth £500 with a sharp object at the North West Air Ambulance (NWAA) charity shop in Kirkby Lonsdale.

It happened at the store in Main Street on Friday, January 17, between 10am and 2pm.

Head of retail at the charity, Jackie Northover, said: “We are saddened that stock worth £500 was purposely destroyed at our charity store in Kirkby Lonsdale, as this would have contributed to the funds needed to keep our helicopters flying and saving lives.”

Police are investigating and have asked anyone with information to contact officers on 101.
