A man has been jailed formore than two years for twice burgling a house.
Gary Nelson, 23, of no fixed address, broke into a semi-detached house in Heysham on June 19 then returned four days later and burgled it again.
On June 19 Nelson broke into the semi-detached house on Redshank Drive and stole jewellery, a games console, i-pod and mobile phone. He also took house and car keys.
OnJune 23 Nelson returned to the same home and stole the car from the drive.He drove the Hyundai Getz to Newby Bridge in Cumbria, where it was spotted by police.
Nelson ran from the car, was located closeand arrested following a search. He appeared at Preston Crown Court and pleaded guilty to charged with burglary, fraud, and car theft.
He was jailed for 876 days and ordered to pay the victim £120. PC Paul Morris said: “I am pleased he has now admitted his crimes and I hope this shows we continue to be committed to tackling those individualscausing the fear and upset that come with being a victim of burglary.”
