BMW 'destroys bridge' before landing in Forton canal after M6 police chase

A white car which looks to be a BMW E92 M3 - a car that has a starting price of around £12,000 - plummeted into a canal in Forton yesterday (August 6).
The vehicle had been involved in a high-speed police chase on the M6 near Preston, one of the North West's busiest motorways, prior to the collision.

Hide AdDuring the chase the driver of the vehicle crashed into a bridge, resulting in the high-performance car nosediving into the canal.
Despite the front of their car being submerged in water, the two occupants of the vehicle - which are believed to have been two men - managed to evade police.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "This vehicle was involved in a pursuit on the M6 motorway yesterday.
"The two occupants managed to destroy a bridge before crashing into the canal at Forton.
"Two males are outstanding."

Hide AdOfficers are now appealing for information and dash cam footage which may help with their investigation.
