Police are appealing for information after an 18-year-old woman was touched inappropriately by a man as she walked to her friend’s house in Morecambe.

The incident took place at around 7pm on Monday, January 13, when a man riding his bike approached the teenager as she walked along Westgate, close to Morecambe Football Club.

The teenager, who is originally from Preston, was in the company of a friend with a young child in a pram.

The man grabbed her bottom and face while making inappropriate remarks towards her.

A short time later the same man cycled back towards the victim and made further sexual remarks.

Police described the man as white and aged in his early twenties.

They said he was wearing small rectangular glasses, a black hat and a scarf obscuring his face.

He was riding a dark-coloured bike.

DC Carl Pritchard, of Lancaster Police, said: “This is a serious offence against a young woman and she was understandably left very distressed. I would appeal to anybody that witnessed this incident or with any information about the man responsible to contact Lancashire Police on 101.”
