Appeal after cyclist is seriously injured in hit-and-run

Police are looking for witnesses to a hit-and-run in Lancaster which left a woman with serious injuries.

At around 1.40pm on Monday, October 5, a cyclist was involved in a collision with a light blue car, possibly a Citroen, on St Georges Quay.

The cyclist, a 46 year old woman, was left with serious upper body injuries which required treatment at Royal Lancaster Hospital. The car failed to stop at the scene.

PC Mark Howson from the Lancaster Road Policing Unit said: “I am urging anyone who may have witnessed this incident or the driver involved to get in contact with us so that we can determine exactly how this collision has occurred.”
