Appeal after car crashes into hotel

Police are appealing for witnesses after a car crashed into a Morecambe hotel and the occupants ran from the scene.

The collision occurred at just after midnight on Saturday, November 9, when the black Ford Fiesta, for unknown reasons, lost control and hit the wall of the York Hotel on Lancaster Road resulting in scuffing to the outer wall and step.

Both occupants of the vehicle, the driver and one passenger ran from the car, one in the direction of the cycle path and one towards the railway bridge.

PC John Stephenson said, “I am keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time and may have witnessed what happened to contact police.

“Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of this collision but nonetheless we are keen to trace the driver and the passenger involved.”
