Police are appealing for information after a 22-year-old man was punched repeatedly in the face whilst on a night out.

The man was assaulted in the town centre around 2.30am on Sunday, September 7.

Reports show he was at the Halifax cash machine on Penny Street talking to three women.

The three women appear to be arguing with a man who then went on to follow the 22-year-old into an alleyway and punched him several times in the face.

He was taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary with a suspected broken cheekbone.

The man is described as white, approximately 5ft 6 inches tall with short straight blonde hair, he was wearing a blue Ralph Lauren t-shirt with a logo on the front.

The three women are thought to be in their early 20’s.
