A community centre was burgled twice in one night.
Police said a crowbar was used to get into a shed at The Centre @Halton on Low Road between midnight on February 18 and 2am the next day and various gardening equipment was stolen.
Brian Jefferson from Halton-with-Aughton Parish Council said: “We managed to purchase the equipment we had on the back of a large development grant to revitalise the centre. That grant provision also provided the ability to acquire the shed.
“It’s desperately sad, thoughtless and mindless because the entire community suffers from the theft.”
During the burglaries, three men who covered their faces and wore gloves arrived in a light coloured four door car with a square boot, black roof bar trims with a sun roof and tinted rear passenger windows.
They stole two strimmers and a power washer worth £300 and then drove away towards Lancaster.
Two men then returned at 2am from the Caton direction and stole a petrol lawnmower. They tied the Kubota sit on mower to the back of the car, and drove off in the Caton direction with one of the men sitting on the mower. Contact police on 101 quoting log 601 of February 19.
