British Transport Police said on their Twitter page: “Some of the legislation we enforce dates back to the early days of the railways and forms part of our specialist role.
“As a result a man has been convicted at court of Trespass and Refuse to Quit (Railway Regulation Act 1840) at #Lancaster. He was fined £60, plus £119 costs and victim surcharge.”
