A BOLTON-le-Sands city councillor has resigned from the local Conservative group just three months after she was re-elected.
Coun Val Histed, who has represented the village as a Conservative since 2007, will continue as an Independent councillor.
She this week revealed that she had been considering resigning from the group “for months” but declined to go into the specific reasons.
“It’s been coming for quite some time,” she said.
“I do not want to say anything that could be taken as personal, but clearly I would not have left if I was happy with the group.
“I have not felt comfortable in the group for some time.
“There was a lot of frustration in me about the way things were going and the way in which decisions were taken locally. I felt frustrated at all the politicising that goes on and the party politics, which to me serve very little purpose.”
