A cycle path in Lancaster has been flooded overnight following a water leak.

A 30m section of the Millennium Path under Skerton Bridge is under about a foot of water.

Last night, Monday, United Utilities staff were dealing with a leak at their pumping station in Kingsway, however water still continues to pour out onto the path.

There were no staff on site at around 8.45am on Tuesday and there were no signs up indicating the deep water.

An alternative route is available by using the road over Skerton Bridge and Kingsway.

United Utilities are currently investigating the issue.
