CCTV: Police hunt Morecambe safe raid gang

It is thought a number of offenders gained access to the house on Wakefield Avenue via a side door and removed a safe containing thousands of pounds.

They are thought to have carried the safe out of the property in a super king sized bedspread before dropping it outside a neighbouring property to gain access to the cash inside.

They then walked off in the direction of Winchester Avenue.

DC Ben Chieffo of Lancaster CID said: “We are keen to trace the three men from the CCTV footage so that we can speak to them and eliminate them from our enquiries.

“They were captured on the footage in the area around the time of the incident so they may well have important information that could assist with our investigation.”

The incident happened at around 11.50am on Wednesday May 20.
