CCTV appeal for theft duo

Two men tried to steal alcohol from a supermarket but left empty-handed.

Police said the men went into the Co-op on Market Street in Carnforth and one man went to the till area whilst the other man selected several bottles of alcohol from the shelf.

The man hid the bottles under his jacket and left the store but was challenged by a member of staff who managed to retrieve the bottles from him.

The first man was white, slim build, approximately 5ft 7 in height, with short dark hair and beard wearing a black coat with blue jeans, aged 18 to 22.

The second man was also white, chubby build, approximately 5ft 7 in height, with short dark brown hair, wearing black coat, skinny jeans, aged 38 to 45.

Both men had a Latvian accent.

The incident happened at 1.34pm on Tuesday, December 30.
