CCTV appeal after phone theft on train

British Transport Police officers have just released a CCTV image of a woman they want to speak to about a phone theft on a train travelling between Oxenholme and Lancaster.

The incident happened as the Virgin Trains service travelled between the two stations.

PC Michelle Johnson said: “A member of staff briefly left a mobile phone on a seat in a carriage of the train. When they returned to the seat the phone had been taken.

“I am certain the woman in the CCTV image has information about the theft and will be able to help our enquiries – but who is she?”

The incident happened on Thursday, October 23, at about 10.40am
