Car's engine turbo blows up on the M6

A CAR'S engine turbo blew up causing delays on the M6 near Lancaster.

Preston and Lancaster Fire service were called to the incident which saw black smoke pouring out of a Volkswagen Transporter.

The owner of the vehicle thought the car was on fire but on closer inspection firefighters found the car's turbo had blown causing the smoke.

The incident, which took place at roughly 11.15am, caused some congestion between junctions 33 and 34 but that congestion has now cleared.
