Carnforth crane collapse driver escapes with minor injury

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “We were called to Warton Road, Carnforth at 11.40am on Tuesday, August 9 following reports of a person trapped by a collapsed crane.

“Colleagues from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and the North West Ambulance Service also attended and a man was released without injury.

“The Railway Accident Investigation Branch have been informed.”

North West Ambulance Service said they were called out at 11.13am on August 9 and sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance but the crane driver only complained of minor foot pain.
