Captain Jack Sparrow pulls boat near Lancaster canal
The Pirates of the Caribbean character was seen pulling a historic towboat towards Kendal, near to Lancaster canal.
Captain Jack Sparrow recreated a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean, where a Windermere boat Whimbrel boat was hauled overland by the captain.
The captain is convincingly played by Laurraine Smith, a Morecambe photographer.
The journey started at Bridge House Marina, in Garstang and finished nearer to Kendal at Larkhall Bridge.
Frank Sanderson, Friends of Lancaster Canal, said: “It was funny and well staged, and an excellent promotion for the Lancaster canal.”
Colin Ogden, head of the 500 strong ‘Owd Lanky Boaters Group,’ pulled off the event of towing the boar over the filled in canal, the first boat to do so for about 70 years.
