UP to 75 full-time jobs could be created as part of new plans for a marina and multi-million pound hotel development in Carnforth.
Garstang developers Graham Anthony Associates have submitted an application to Lancaster City Council for outline planning permission for the scheme which, as well as a 50-berth marina and 100-room hotel, would also include a 30m high wind turbine.
Residents’ views were split at an earlier meeting on the Carnforth Brow proposal, and Carnforth Town Council has called an extraordinary meeting to discuss the latest proposals, which would also create 20 part-time jobs.
The meeting will be held at Carnforth Civic Hall on Monday, April 16 at 6.30pm.
The hotel, intended primarily to serve tourists and business people using the motorway, would include car parking for around 100 vehicles at the rear of the building.
There would also be a small separate car park and facilities building at the new marina. The proposed erection of a wind turbine would contribute to the efficient running of the development.
