A Lancaster jeweller is “honoured” to have won a coveted award at this year’s UK Jewellery Awards.
Silver Tree Jewellery, in Penny Street, picked up the Branded Jewellery Retailer of the Year award at a ceremony at the Tower of London on June 17.
With 18 targeted categories, the awards cover every aspect of the jewellery industry, from New Designer of the Year to Ethical Jewellery Business of the Year.
Silver Tree’s managing director, Oliver Gibson, who runs the business with co-director, Hannah Riding, who is working on the company’s website expansion, said: “It is a true honour to win the award and feel privileged to have such a fantastic team behind me.”
Opened in 1982, Silver Tree is still very much a family business, and prides itself on its customer service.
One judge at the award ceremony said: “Customer service is clearly the most important driver for this business.”
Judges said the main reasons for the win were Oliver’s acute business sense, an unparalleled level of customer service as well as housing the world’s most renowned luxury jewellery and watch fashion brands.
The jewellery brands stocked at Silver Tree include a Pandora shop-in-shop, their Official Partnership with Thomas Sabo, a Links of London shop-in-shop, Swarovski, Vivienne Westwood, Hot Diamonds, ChloBo, Clogau Gold, Michael Kors and Buddha to Buddha
Ruth Faulkner, Editor of Retail Jeweller, said: “The UK Jewellery Awards remains the only awards for the industry, judged by the industry and competition this year was extremely tough with a record number of entries received.
“Those who were crowned winners really are the very best at what they do and should feel incredibly proud of their achievements.
“The Tower of London provided a superb backdrop for the awards this year and guests all had a great night.”
