Shop raises awareness of laboratory dog breeding

Staff at a cosmetics store are supporting a national campaign to close a beagle farm.

Lush and Save the Harlan Beagles (STHB) are hosting an event in Preston to raise awareness of laboratory dog breeding in the UK.

STHB is a campaign to close down Harlan Interfauna – a site that breeds laboratory beagles in Cambridgeshire.

The campaign is supported by Caroline Lucas MP.

On Saturday, May 25 the Lush branch at Fishergate Shopping Centre is hosting an awareness-raising event and offering customers the opportunity to talk with campaign members and sign a petition to close down Harlan.

One of STHB’s most well-known canine supporters, a dog called Toby, will be in attendance and there will be a free treat courtesy of the Vegan Cakery.

Shoppers can visit Lush from noon to 4pm to find out more about the plight of the Harlan beagles.
