A Morecambe based food fanatic has launched a new website bringing together insights, information and links on all things local and independent.
Phil Keenan launched Bite Local recently for people who want to know exactly what they are eating and who want tasty food, bargains, new taste experiences, and local produce.
The site features independent food and drink producers, suppliers and retailers, and details on Lancashire’s rich array of foodstuffs such as fruit vinegars and herb infused oils, salt marsh lamb, Lancashire goats cheese, smoked duck and chilli con carne pie.
Phil has recruited North West food and drink businesses to his Bite Network – gathering people who believe consumers in the region deserve to be able to shop with confidence.
He said: “The Bite Local website guides the region’s residents and visitors to a large range of local companies and enterprises, and even places to go to learn cooking and baking skills.
“Food and drink are such a vital part of our cultural experience and quality of life, not just fuel. So make it count – and shop locally.”
