The Lancaster District Chamber of Commerce wants to hear from business people who have a connection to the city’s twin town of Lublin in Poland.
Lublin has been one of Lancaster’s five twin towns since 1994, with strong ties through the International Youth games and the Rotary club of Lancaster Loyne. Lancaster’s other twin towns include Perpignan in France, Rendsburg in Germany, Aalborg in Denmark, and Vaxjo in Sweden.
The Chamber wishes to enhance Lancaster’s connections to Lublin by establishing new trade links, giving a boost to both towns’ economies.
The North West is the biggest exporter in the UK outside London and the South East, while Lancashire is the second largest area in the North West. The county plays a critical role in the region’s export drive. In businesses, productivity increases by an average of 34 per cent in the first year of exporting, and firms that export are 12 per cent more likely to prosper in difficult times.
To get the ball rolling, the Chamber would like to hear from local business people who have previously lived in Lublin for any amount of time.
