High-flying Heather’s top 50 health nod

Professor Heather Tierney-Moore, Chief Executive at Lancashire Care NHS

Foundation Trust, has been given a top 50 nod.

The Health Service Journal(HSJ)has released its list of top leaders within the NHS as chosen for by a panel of 14 judges.

In a time of increased pressures for the NHS, including reduced budgets, increases in demand on services and pressure from regulators, this is when the outstanding leaders shine through.

The list, compiled for the second year, highlights Chief Executives who have defining characteristics including a clear vision for the future coupled with outstanding leadership and commitment to their organisation and patient care.

A nurse by background, Heather was selected for leading Lancashire Care with a values based approach during her last 6 years at the helm and stresses the importance of aligning leadership characteristics with the caring nature of the NHS.

She is an advocate for quality and compassionate care and an expert in change management. In addition to this, she plays an instrumental role in the North West Coast Academic Science Health Network (NWC AHSN),
