A business consultancy has become the first in the Lancaster district to be awarded certified advisor status by the global online ‘cloud’ accounting software firm Xero.

Heysham-based Three Point One, which is run by Vicki Askham, works with small and medium sized companies (SMEs) across the region, providing financial expertise.

She said: “Cloud accounting is creating a buzz in the SME business community. It’s transforming the way that small businesses keep track of their finances, making it easy for them to issue invoices, pay bills and keep track of expenses. Most importantly, it gives them real-time information about their cash flow.

“There are a number of cloud accounting solutions on the market, so Three Point One has been very selective about who we wanted to partner with.

“Xero consistently stands apart in its visual appeal, wide range of features, and excellent value for money – it is a product that we are proud to recommend to our clients.

“Our clients love Xero because the live bank feeds lets them see their numbers in real-time, it’s great to look at, and it’s easy to use – even on the go with the Xero Touch mobile app.

“There’s no waiting around until long after the financial year has ended to see how their business has performed or work out how much tax they owe.

“Feedback from our clients has been overwhelmingly positive. Many of them want to improve their understanding of the way that the day-to-day business operations translate into the financial reports they receive.

“Xero makes this possible.

“Our clients realise that devoting some time to understanding the numbers is crucial, not just to improving financial performance, but also in helping their businesses become more efficient and provide even better service to their customers.”

Three Point One was set up in 2011 to provide small and micro-businesses with high-level financial expertise. It also has an office in Liverpool.
