Lancaster Canal Boats has received a VisitEngland accolade in recognition of its quality visitor experience.
The accolades, introduced by VisitEngland for the first time in October 2014, recognise outstanding attractions going the extra mile to create an enjoyable and memorable experience for visitors.
Sarah Thornton, operations manager for the Aldcliffe Road based canal tour operator, said: “Here at Lancaster Canal Boats we are incredibly proud to have been awarded a Welcome Accolade for outstanding customer service – receiving an amazing 95 per cent in our recent inspection.
“We are incredibly proud of this achievement and even more proud of our staff who not only enjoy what they do but always go that extra mile to ensure our visitors have a truly memorable experience with us.” The accolades are available to attractions that are part of the Visitor Attractions Quality Scheme and are allocated through a scoring system based on an annual assessment by VisitEngland.
They include the Welcome accolade, Hidden Gem, Best Told Story, Quality Café and the Gold accolade.
