Bridge drama rescue
A person threatening to jump from Carlisle Bridge was talked down by police.
Police, the RNLI hovercraft, and Morecambe and Knott End Coastguard rescue teams were all called out on Sunday teatime.
Knott End Coastguard team were asked to set up downstream in case the person jumped or fell into the water.
Before coastguard teams and the RNLI hovercraft arrived at the scene, the person was already being taken off the bridge safely by police and the crews were stood down.
