A biker suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital after a crash near Thurnham.
Police said the biker, in his 60s, was riding a Harley Davidson along Main Road in Thurnham at 12.45pm on Sunday when the crash happened.
The driver of the black Ford Fiesta involved in the crash was not hurt.
The North West Air Ambulance landed in a farmer’s field next to the road in order to airlift the seriously injured man to hospital.
His injuries, including extensive broken ribs, a broken arm and shoulder injuries, were serious but not life-threatening.
Police closed the road at Thurnham Hall and vehicles were sent back in the opposite direction.
The road was reopened just after 5pm.
The biker is in stable condition in Royal Preston Hospital.
