Big surprises in store at historic hall

Teddies, sandpits, mazes, swings, dens and competitions are all activities to give children a big surprise at Leighton Hall this summer.

Hidden away in the Woodland Walk are new, free of charge, features to keep younger visitors entertained.

As adults enjoy a guided tour of the house with enthusiastic and entertaining guides, children are offered a competition form and pencil so they can follow the teddy bear treasure hunt around the house, noting where they see the family of cuddlies hiding away.

A different bear will be hiding in each room, and it is the young visitors’ job to find them! Completed forms are entered into the weekly prize draw to win a Leighton mug and their very own Leighton bear!

After the tour, step outside to witness spectacular birds of prey that fly at 3:30 (weather permitting), before venturing into the woods to “Find the Faces”. Using their paper and pencils, children can record where they spot the fabulous faces all hidden on various trees throughout the woodland walk.

The new dens are a great place to hide and one is set up with a table, chairs and tea set, so children can take their favourite toy for a secret teddy bears picnic.

Finally, let them run wild around the caterpillar maze, before playing in the brand new sand pit. Leighton Hall is open for families from Tuesday to Friday and Sundays in August, 2pm – 5pm (also bank holidays).

Admission £7.75 Adults, £4.95 Children (5 – 12 yrs) and £6.75 for Senior Citizens. A family ticket is £24.50 (for 2 adults and 3 children).
