Between 10pm on Friday February 19 and 2am on Saturday February 20, some phones around the Trust will be intermittently unavailable whilst they upgrade – although it is not expected to be more than five minutes at a time.

To ensure any calls can be connected to the relevant department during the upgrade, members of the public are advised to dial the main hospital switchboard on 01539 732288.

There may be a short period where the switchboard is unavailable although we expect that this will at the beginning of the upgrade. If members of the public are unable to contact switchboard, they are advised to call the hospitals directly on Furness General Hospital 01229 870870 and Royal Lancaster Infirmary 01524 65944.

The emergency ‘Red Phones’ around the Trust for staff to use in emergency situations, will be unaffected.
