A North Lancashire town will burst into colour and creativity when artists exhibit their work in the street this weekend.

Preparations are under way for the Carnforth Art Festival.

Work produced in various media has been on show at businesses throughout the town since Monday and will be on display in shop windows and inside premises until the end of the month.

Bunting designed and coloured by children from Carnforth North Road Primary School at events in class and the library is planned for the town square.

A free quiz sheet is also available from several shops, with a £25 gift voucher for the winning entrant.

The art festival takes place over the forthcoming Bank Holiday Weekend, with Lancashire artists showing off their work in the town centre.

There will also be music and children’s activities between 10am and 4pm, followed by a film show at the Carnforth station heritage centre.

A new community website for the town will also launch over the weekend.
